Our Values
We value the authority and authenticity of the Holy Scripture. It is the standard for all things: including chain of leadership, the proper order in dealing with offenses in the body, family structure, worship, business dealings, etc. The Bible declares absolutes regarding morality and rejects attempts to legislate the Christian life through human rules, especially rules that apply to gray areas. We focus on the essentials of orthodox Christianity while being culturally relevant.
We value worship. Almighty God inhabits the praises of His people. We recognize the importance of sincere open corporate praise and worship. We accept that individuals worship in different ways and we believe in giving them the freedom to worship in the manner in which they are comfortable and accustomed, while maintaining scriptural order and congruence during congregational worship.
We value people. Jesus came to earth, died and was resurrected for people, not denominations, buildings, or programs. He accepts individuals of all cultures, ethnic groups, genders and backgrounds. It means accepting people at their current level of spiritual growth and development, as God does, then encouraging them to grow in an environment of grace.
We value meaningful, significant, loving relationships. God created us for relationships, therefore, significant, vibrant, and devoted relationships should fill every aspect of church life. It is through relationships, where by, individuals come to and mature in Christ. Such relationships are nurtured in small groups and regular fellowship.
We value inward transformation over outward spirituality or theological knowledge. God is concerned with transforming the person more than changing the situation. It is the work of the Holy Spirit within the person that alters the outward actions. Therefore we, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we focus on helping people transform their inner person and character through prayer, Bible study, and worship.
We value realness, authenticity, and transparency over performance. Real relationships are built as we reflect Jesus; consequently, we seek to be humble, vulnerable, approachable, honest and teachable.
We value grace. Just as God exampled to us, we are redemptive in correction not punitive. Restoring an individual to a correct relationship with God and the body of Christ is what is important. We aim at righteousness and emphasize values and principles, avoiding legalism. It is vital to choose to see the best in people because they are all loved by God.
We value empowerment and release. God’s call and gifting are what qualifies individuals for ministry, not education or titles. Therefore, people must be given the encouragement and opportunity to fulfill the call of God for their lives.
We value multiplication. God has called all believers to make disciples. Each of us must disciple another person of like gifts and callings. We value leadership that recruits, equips, and mobilizes ministers. Equipping and training teachable people are essential to multiplication. We will birth new churches. [Back To Top]
