Statements of Faith
2.1
Statements of
Faith – The Church holds the following statements of faith as
being a summary of our fundamental Christian beliefs. Each Statement has
its basis in the Holy Scriptures. a. We believe the Holy Bible, the canonical books of the Old and New Testament, is unique, written by men and divinely inspired in all its contents. The Church accepts the Holy Bible and its teaching as inerrant and authoritative; therefore, it is the only source and norm of doctrine, morality and life in the Church. Psalm 12:6, 19:7-10, 119; Isaiah 8:20, 40:8; John 10:35; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21. b. We believe there is only one true God, Creator and Preserver of all things. God is triune and eternally self-existent having revealed Himself as God the Father in creation, God the Son in the incarnation, and God the Holy Spirit in the redemptive work of man. God is one being who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a mutual indwelling of three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17; 1Corinthians 8:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2. c. We believe God the Father is the Creator of all things visible and invisible, who sustains and governs the whole created order by His wisdom and holy providence. Genesis 1:1; Psalms 33:6-11; Acts 17:24-27; Romans 11:33-36; Hebrews 11:3.
d.
We believe that the
perfect sinless humanity and the absolute full deity of the Lord Jesus
Christ is indissolubly united in one divine human person and in His
unique incarnation by miraculous conception and virgin birth. Luke
1:30-35; John 1:1, 14, 18,
e.
We believe God
the Holy Spirit is one with God the Father and God the Son having
been sent to accomplish all things on Earth as the Lord and Giver of
Life. He regenerates all true believers indwelling them and leading them
into all truth. John f. We believe man was created in the image of God, tempted by Satan, and received spiritual and physical death through sin. Genesis 1:26-27, 2:7, 3:1-24; Romans 6:22
g.
We believe personal salvation comes by God’s grace alone and is received through faith
alone in the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ at
h.
We believe every believer should receive baptism
by full immersion in water. Matthew 28:18-29; Luke 3:21-22; Acts i. We believe every believer should be baptized with the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ promised this blessing to all who accepted Him as Savior and that it would release supernatural power for ministry. This baptism is received through faith with or without the laying on of hands. Matthew 3:11; Luke 11:13, Acts 1:8, 2:1-4, 2:37-39, 9:17, 19:1-6.
j.
We believe God has given to the Church the Manifestation
Gifts of the Spirit, the ministry gifts and motivational gifts for
the purpose of training up believers, for the work of the ministry, for
the building up of the Church and that all believers should earnestly
seek God for the gifts He has for them. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, k. We believe the sanctification of every believer is both progressive and positional. Every believer is spiritually separated from the world by their position in the Lord Jesus Christ. As a matter of practice, every believer is progressively being regenerated while in this world by the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:5-14; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-4; 1 John 2:29; Philippians 2:12&13. l. We believe all ministries flows through the local Church. Every believer should participate in a local Church so they may exhort, encourage, help and most importantly discern the Lord’s Body. Every believer has a responsibility to help other believers maintain their covenant relationship with God and other believers. Genesis 12:1-3; Hebrews 10:24&25; Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:47, 8:1, 11:22, 11:26, 12:5, 13:1, 14:23&27, 15:3&4, 18:22, 20:17&28, Rom 16:1&5, 1 Cor 1:2, 4:17, 11:18, 14:4,5,12,23, 16:19; 2 Co 1:1; Eph 3:10&21, Eph 5; Phi 4:15; Col 4:15&16; 1Th 1:1; 2Th 1:1; 1Ti 3:5&15; Phm 1:2; Jam 5:14; 3Jo 1:10; Rev 2:1, 8 , 12, 18, 3:1, 7, 14. m. We believe all believers must exhibit lives that bring honor and not reproach to God or the Church. It is the responsibility of the Church to help believers who sin to be restored to God and the Church. Matthew 18:15-18; I Corinthians 5:1-5; 2 Corinthians 2:6-8; Galatians 6:1&2, 1 Thessalonians 5:22; Hebrews 12:11.
n.
We believe the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is
theocratic in its form of government where the Lord Jesus Christ,
through Holy Spirit given revelation, governs
through Apostles, prophets, pastors and elders. Therefore, our local
Church is governed by the Senior Pastor and the Servants Council
(elders). Psalms 127:1; Acts
